The Tobacco Treatment Center

The Tobacco Treatment Center is a comprehensive, face to face service in Portland, that offers behavioral counseling and help with quit medications for people in Maine who are interested in quitting tobacco use. A multi disciplinary team of Tobacco Treatment Specialists staff the center, including a physician, a nurse and nurse practitioners.  More information.

Educational Training For Providers

The Center for Tobacco Independence, on behalf of the Partnership For A Tobacco-Free Maine, offers trainings on providing evidence-based treatment for those who are dependent on tobacco. More information.

The Center for Tobacco Independence (part of MaineHealth and Maine Medical Center) focuses on delivery and use of effective treatments for tobacco use and dependence. CTI provides treatment (support group and individual counseling) and consultation, conducts research, policy development and educates a wide variety of health professionals and employers about tobacco use and treatment.
